Deadline — Nov. 16, 5 pm
The board of Local 191 is pleased to announce that we are continuing to offer three (3) post-secondary scholarships for 2015.
The scholarships, valued at $1,250 each, will be awarded to the writers of the three best essays that answer the question posed by the Local's scholarship committee.
The question for this year is:
"A federal election is underway, and some unions have launched their own advocacy campaigns. Explain why you think Unions should play a role in politics/election campaigns, or, why they should stay out of elections and stick to workplace issues."
The competition is open to all members of Local 191 in good standing, their children, or the grandchildren of retirees, enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution.
Deadline for submission is 5 pm, Nov. 16. Entries must be received at the Local office.
The scholarship committee will review all submissions and recommend to the board the best three submissions.
