This meeting is being held with WFP carriers in response to the Company's decision to exercise Article 34 of the Collective Agreement — it is considering contracting out newspaper/flyer distribution and delivery.
As per terms of Article 34, the Company will discuss options before reaching its decision. This will require WFP carriers to elect two representatives to work with Union representatives in those discussions.
This meeting will be to elect those two representatives. Union representatives will also provide members an update on the situation and, where possible, answer questions.A subsequent planning session with the carrier representatives will occur at a date, time and location to be determined.
It's important that all carriers attend this meeting.
